MIsamu Yonekawa is a partner in the Firm’s Offices’ Domestic Group practice.

His practice focuses on corporate and individual litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular specialism in the construction sector. His longstanding clients include a TSE-listed major Japanese consturuction company and its group companies.

Mr. Yonekawa is widely recoginized as an expert on disposal of nonperforming loans at corporate and financial institutions. From 1986 at its inception to 1991, he served as lead counsel to the governmental body to advance nonperforming loans which was later to be merged into The Correction and Resolution Corporation.

Throughout his tenure, he led a team of 12 lawyers to oversee the administration and enforcement of its programmes in furthrance of national financial goals. His leadership contributed to guide the Corporation through many of the financial challenges that the nation has experienced in the past two decades.

Mr. Yonekawa also renders general corporate advice to a number of publicly and privately held corporations.

Mr. Yonekawa sits on the Committe on the Administration of Investigatory Organ for Housing Disputes of the Tokyo Bar Association.

Mr. Yonekawa is a co-author of two textbook manuals on insolvency and commercial contracts.
