Masatoshi Sase is a co-founder of Alpha Partners Law Offices, and Head of the Firm’s Domestic Department.

Mr. Sase has broad litigation and non-litigation practice virtually in all areas of Japanese corporate and commercial law.

He has extensive experience in advising varied clients on mergers and acquisitions including TOB and business transfer, real estate, construction, fishery, intellectual property, and labour and employment matters and issues.

Mr. Sase has particular expertise in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy, and is a widely recognized litigation expert.

Over the course of 30-year career, Mr. Sase has been involved in many of the leading litigations and disputes in this area. His litigation also includes representation of corporations and individuals, employers and employees in all proceedings.

Recently, Mr.Sase successfully acted as counsel for the restructuring of the largest aqua farm in Japan.

Mr. Sase regularly advises a broad range of public and private institutions, and board of directors across various industry sectors with respect to strategic management.

His clients encompass trading, manufacturing and construction companies, and financial institutions.

Mr. Sase has been an active member of both the Tokyo Bar Association and Japan Federation of Bar Associations, and has served as Chair and Vice-Chair on a number of committees. In 2006, he was elected to assume the position of Vice- Chair of the Tokyo Bar Association. In his capacity as the Associations’ top cadre, Mr.Sase has visited many overseas countries. He also has served on the committees affiliated with The Ministry of Justice in Japan.
